*      New Requirement for Rank of First Class

Effective January 1, 2006 recruiting a Scout is now a requirement for the rank of 1st Class.

This is requirement #11 and reads:

Tell someone who is eligible to join Boy Scouts, or an inactive Boy Scout, about your troop's activities.  Invite him to a troop outing, activity, service project or meeting.  Tell him how to join, or encourage the inactive Boy Scout to become active.

National has made this process extremely easy and on-line.  Follow these simple steps:

Step 1

Go to www.thescoutzone.org.

Step 2

Click on "Tell a Friend."

Step 3

Enter your name and your friend's name and e-mail address in the boxes.

Step 4

Select images of activities you think would be fun and interesting for your friend to do.

Step 5

Chose the music and the message you would like to send.

Step 6

Preview your e-card and send it to your friend.
