Blastocyst: An early stage of embryonic development at which cells begin to commit to certain developmental lineages.
Heterochromatin: The densely staining regions of the nucleus that generally contain condensed transcriptionally inactive regions  of the genome.
Euchromatin:The lighty staining regions of the nucleus that generally contain decondensed, transcriptionally active regions of the genome.

IVF: In Vitro Fertilization

Transgenic:An organism to which a gene or cluster of genes from a different species has been added.

SCNT: Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer ( aka "cloning")
