MEETING MINUTES

DEEP  SOUTH CHIP COLLECTORS CLUB

NOVEMBER 3, 2007

ISLAND VIEW CASINO, GULFPORT, MS

 

1.  OPENING.  The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by the President, Bob Reed. There were 10 members present and one guest, Richard ‘Reggie” Gummer..

 

2.  MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of August 18 were read and accepted.

 

3.  TREASUER’S REPORT:  Balance $716.67 with $95.13 expenses and $40 deposits.

 

4.  COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

      A.  NOMINATION:  Election of officers is at the next meeting 23 February 2008.  There is no slate of officers. Nominations will have to be made from the floor to fill the position of President, Vic-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership officer. Top Newby has indicated he would remain as Membership Officer. Officers are elected for a two year term. If you are interested in serving in one of the officer position, let the secretary know prior to 23 February..

 

      B.   MEMBERSHIP:  Top Newby reported that membership renewals would be once a year. Due February of each year..

 

      C.  FINANCE:  NONE

 

      D.  CONVENTION:  Have been asked by Ron Clewell if the club would be able to assist with a chip show in Tunica. The club will not be able to help, but if a show was to be held in Tunica, several members would attend..

 

      E.  WEBSITE REPORT:  Ed Bigley has submitted his resignation as webmaster effective end of this year. Bob Reed’s son Joey will take the position.  He will contact Ed and get the website switch over to him.

 

5.  OLD BUSINESS: 

 

     A.  Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the club have been published. After corrections to add Membership Officer and his responsibilities. These will be voted on at the February meeting..

 

6.  NEW BUSINESS:  The Island View Casino has approved our request for meeting dates for 2008. They are:  23 Feb, 17 May, 16 Aug and 1 Nov.

 

7.  DOOR PRIZEDS:  The following won door prizes: John Sibrel (chip case), others were Keith Galle, Joe Peavy, Debbie Reed and Bob Reed. Bob Reed donated a Club Forest chip won by Top Newby.

 

8.  50/50 DRAWING:  Top Newby won the 50/50 Drawing, $25 split for him and club.

 

9.  ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Next meeting is 23 February 2008, 12:30 PM  at the Island View Casino in Gulfport. Election of officers scheduled.

 

10.  ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Most members remained for continued trading session.
