Welcome to society's newest form of ego gratification, a personal web page. This is also the ultimate democracy -- in cyberspace we're all equal. Here you'll find a lot of information about me which you are free to ignore if you like.
I'm a 40-something systems professional living in Florida. My main recreations are motorcycling, mystery novels (especially Sherlock Holmes and Nero Wolfe), playing handyman around the house, and, of course, Star Trek in all its permutations. I've been married since 1974 to Thelma, a native Texan who makes the most bodacious barbecue.
I have been writing one thing or another since grade school, where I began with some very bad poetry. Over the years, I've been involved in several journalistic efforts, from my high school yearbook to newsletters for business organizations. I once turned out a 28-page newspaper every month for the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade of the US Army. I was at one time the Manufacturing Systems columnist for Interact, the magazine of the Hewlett Packard Users' Group.
While I enjoyed fact-based writing, and actually made some money at it, my ambition is to be a published writer of mystery novels. There are links below to some sample work, if you're interested. All work is Copyright © David M. Scott.
