Singer Sewing Machine Company On January 16, 1947, the
Civilian Production Administration, Office of Temporary Controls, conducted a hearing with
Singer Sewing Machine Company and Newstrom-Davis and Company of Denver, Colorado, to
determine if there was a violation of the Veterans Housing Program Order No. 1 prohibiting
construction, repairs, or alterations in excess of $1,000 without authorization.
