Mark and I ageed that a new puppy would be a good thing. (I have been very weepy.) TODAY I pick up our new yorkie baby, Juliette! Photos will follow.
I had to put my dog to sleep last month. She had a brain tumor that was fast growing and causing seizures, ultimately robbing her of her mobility. She was very sick.
My mother has been very sick with a lung infection and heart problems. I have spent the last three out of four weeks in Jacksonville taking care of momma and my father. He's not sick, he's just 78 and pampered. My sisters and I are rotating weeks, and Kat and I will begin every other week again once I return from NC. I think my weeks are Oct.20, Nov.3, 17, etc. It is an honor and a privilige.
Because of June's hail storm, a new dark green tin roof is being installed on our NC home.
WOW - Finally a link to WalMart's newer patterns!!Many more of the older Walmart Quilt Patterns have been added to my Crafts Site as well.
Do you like to get postcards? I do, so I joined PostCrossing, and I am sending and receiving cards from all over the world!

On June 10th, Baseball-sized hail pelted Beech Mountain. My neighbors rooftops and cars were badly damaged. Our roof looked pretty bad and pieces of shingles were everywhere. Insurance covered the cost of replacing the same roof, but we are going to upgrade and have a dark green metal roof.
August began our son David's Winter Park Tech School education. He is studying for certifications in Computer Systems Technology. David and Audrey plan to live with us for the next 18 months as they complete their education.
August also began our son Robert's Barry University's Law School education, right here in Orlando. Robert plans to live with us for the next 3 years as he completes his JD degree.
In May we tried out the darling miniature car by Mercedes called the Smart Car For Two. We liked the idea of having a small car to conserve on gas, so we put the required $99 down on a red/black Cabrio with convertible top.
6'6" Mark actually fits comfortably inside! There is a waiting period to receive delivery of the car, and ours should be here by early fall 2009.
A snake! There were actually two snakes swimming in our pool, April 2007. This happens pretty often.
An owl! An owl flew into our path while heading to our NC home, and it broke my car's grill.
A bear! David came face-to-face with a full-sized male Florida bear in October 2007, around 10PM. Bears continue to wander the neighborhood and live in the forest behind our house. Ocasionally they cover the "bear problem" in the TV news.
A deer! I was driving down the road near my neighborhood on aSeptember afternoon and I was quick with my cell phone camera!
We had a 13-year old Yorkshire Terrier. You can ask this smart little Yorkie (she looks just like our Kelsey) to do
Dog Tricks.
Try speak, sit, up, jump, beg, down, roll over, play dead, paw, lick, and my favorite, kiss.
