This diet was very popular in the early 1970's. It is the exact diet the U.S. Ski Team followed to lose weight quickly in preparation for the 1972 Winter Olympics. I went on this diet in 1973 and actually lost 20 pounds from my then slight frame as a teenager, going from Juniors size 7 to a cute little size 3. This week, in a frantic search for a quick fat fix, I was lucky to find an ancient copy, (nearly an antique!) tucked into the back of an old cookbook. Some wonderful diet items have been added to the grocer's shelf since 1970, like Splenda, fat-free margerine and salad dressing, and I plan to incorporate what I feel is "legal" to this diet. I wonder if it will make a difference in weight loss if I add Crystal Lite Pink Lemonade? I also dislike lamb, so the lamb chops are out! I'll have turkey or chicken instead. I currently wear a ladies size 10/12 and would love to fit in size 6 or 8. The pale yellow background color of this page is the color of fat AND the color of grapefruit. How can two extreme opposites be so similar? Below is the exact diet as it was originally formulated for very fast weight loss:
