MARTY'S FAMILY ROOM

Inspired with the time he'll have off, Robert and Angela are getting the camper cleaned up for a campout.
The pop-up has been closed up for about a year and it smells old and musty. We'll have to wash everything.

A Typical Day At Home
My day usually starts at 7:30, when I hear Robert rattling around in the kitchen. He feeds himself, the dog, and makes us both a cup of coffee while he gets his lunch together for work. I enjoy our morning time together. Then he leaves for work and I empty the dishwasher and reload it with whatever is in the sink from David's midnight snack and Robert's breakfast. Mark is up and out somewhere in this time. After a showe, I pick out whatever needs to be defrosted for dinner and do a load or two of laundry while I go online for about an hour. Brush the dog, play with her a little, and it's already time for lunch. After lunch I check our mailbox and take care of any bills, then I go back online and check email for any Mary Kay orders. This is when I try to update my website and blogs if I have time. Sometimes I need a trip to deliver Mary Kay orders, or go the grocery store, the pool store, doctor, and errands. If my day is free, I do some housework or take a walk. I try to be home at 5 so I can start dinner and have a meal ready by 6:30. I clean up after dinner, visit with Mark, maybe watch some TV or read, and somehow 11PM arrives way too soon and it's time to go to bed!

  • Many more Walmart Quilt Patterns have been added to my Crafts Site!
  • Yep, a campout is on the horizon. Mark and I are invited to join Robert and Angela. We might go for a couple of days, then David and Audrey will join them for a couple of days. Won't that be nice? We think that our regular camping spot at Kelly Park at Rock Springs, right here in Apopka, will be just fine. After swimming in the springs all day, we can laze around the campfire and cook marshmallows. Robert's last day of work is this Friday.

  • On June 10th, Baseball-sized hail pelted Beech Mountain. My neighbors rooftops and cars were badly damaged. Our roof looked pretty bad and pieces of shingles were everywhere. Insurance covered the cost of replacing the same roof, but we are going to upgrade and have a dark green metal roof.
  • In August our son Robert starts Barry University's Law School, right here in Orlando. Robert moved home and gave notice to stop working at the end of July. He plans to live with us for the next 3 years as he completes his JD degree.
  • In May we tried out the darling miniature car by Mercedes called the Smart Car For Two. We liked the idea of having a small car to conserve on gas, so we put the required $99 down on a red/black Cabriolet with convertible top. 6'6" Mark actually fits comfortably inside! It will take 12-18 months to receive my car. There will be a balance of about $16,000 to pay then.
  • I write a twice-weekly blog for a Health Talk about Life With Rheumatoid Arthritis.
  • A snake! There were actually two snakes swimming in our pool, April 2007. This happens pretty often.
  • An owl! An owl flew into our path while heading to our NC home, and it broke my car's grill.
  • A bear! David came face-to-face with a full-sized male Florida bear in October 2007, around 10PM. Bears continue to wander the neighborhood and live in the forest behind our house. Ocasionally they cover the "bear problem" in the TV news.
  • A deer! I was driving down the road near my neighborhood on aSeptember afternoon and I was quick with my cell phone camera!
  • We have a second home in Beech Mountain, North Carolina.
  • We have a 12-year old Yorkshire Terrier. You can ask this smart little Yorkie (she looks just like our Kelsey) to do Dog Tricks. Try speak, sit, up, jump, beg, down, roll over, play dead, paw, lick, and my favorite, kiss.
