APRIL FLOWERS

March 2006

This baby quilt was made for my good friend Kim's first grandchild, a girl to be named Briley Brooke, born 2 weeks early on March 16th. Kammie Leigh is Kim's oldest daughter.

The pattern is called Magnolia, but it looks more like tulips to me. I moved the leaves to suit myself. How nice to learn that Kammie's favorite flower is the tulip!

Flowers are placed on pointe. The binding is the same yellow with tiny floral as the flower stamins, and a 4" border and back is from a complimentary yellow fabric with matching pink roses, plus more roses, from the same material line. I used thin and soft poly/cotton batting. Machine quilted, and additional quilting around each flower.

Finished size was 38" square.
