TASK

Your task:
Using the links provided, research your character's interest in the Pharaoh.
Create a graphic organizer based on your research. You will need at least four
instances of factual information, and four instances of opinion to get the highest
points possible. Using your graphic organizer, create a rough draft paper explaining
why your character should be awarded possession of the mummy. Be sure to include
supporting details.
Your team's
task: Each member of the team will share the information
discovered during research, then decide who should get custody of Leevme-Lohn,
thereby determining whether the mummy gets unearthed or left undisturbed. Be
sure to identify the potential consequences of your group's decision!
Once your group has made its decision, create a graphic organizer displaying
a branch for each of the characters using your individual graphic organizers.
Then, write a script for a mock trial detailing your decision. Your group will
present your findings to the President of Egypt to help her determine who shall
get custody of Pharaoh Leevme-Lohn.
Some questions youll want to consider, individually and as a group, to
help you make your decision:
What claim does your character have on the mummy?
Why should your character get custody of the mummy?
What are some valid reasons for allowing the mummy to be unearthed?
What are some valid reasons for leaving the mummy alone?
Why do you think myths and legends about mummies get started?
Which myths or legends - if any - might be based on truth?
Which myths or legends - if any - are strictly myths or legends?
How important are cultural beliefs to society?
Is science always accurate? What is the likelihood that what the scientists learn will still be "true" 10 years from now? Or 100 years?
