Water Filters: SPECTRAPURE

My reef tanks, displayed on this webpage, uses water purified by Spectrapure. This company's main business is water purification of all types. They have been in the business since 1985. They offer the perfect systems for people in the hobby. These systems offer 4 stages of filtration 1) sediment pre-filter( remove silt,sediment and particles like sand and clay ) 2) carbon block ( removes things like chlorine, chloramines, pesticides... ) 3) RO membrane ( removes salts, hardness, bacteria, viruses, pyrogens... ) 4) DI unit ( remove nitrates, phosphates and silicates ). These units are easy to use and supply two outlets so that you can collect purified drinking water ( no more trips to the store ) at the same time you are making RO/DI water for the reef tank. I only offer two models at the same flow rate because the price difference between these models and slower flow rate models doesn't justify the time lost. The difference between these two is the quality of the different filtering units and the CSPDI has a conductivity meter which can be used to determine when the performance of the system has degraded to a point where replacement of the DI cartridge is required. The monitor operates on a 9 volt alkaline type battery (included). These systems would need to be modified if your water has chloramines in it - you can ask your water company to answer this for you. If it turns out you have chloramines - call us - you can add a single stage to these systems to remove the chloramine.
