Graland Bros. Cork-Head Frog & Minnow Lures

Garland Bros., Plant City, FL

Garland's lures are famous because they introduced a novel feature in plug design. The front one-quarter of the lure is made of cork and over-painted. The darter style Cork-Head Frog and the bulbous Cork-Head Minnow shown below are the two variations seen with this feature. Garland made these lures in the early 1930's. These lures typically have painted tack eyes. In the late 1930's, Garland also made a number of other wooden lures that did not have the cork heads and had painted eyes.
