Pflueger, Enterprise Mfg. Co. Reels

Pflueger, Enterprise Mfg. Co., Akron, OH

Pflueger (Enterprise Mfg. Co.) made reels from the late 1890's up until the present day. The first model Pflueger Supreme is perhaps the most interesting of the long line of Pflueger fishing reels. It had an automatic free-spool and an adjustable anti-backlash. Each reel was serialized. The reel feature that is really innovative are the little flippers at the ends for putting the line into the top of the level wind. As the level wind is traversing during the line retrieve, it pushes the line into the flippers. The older, high quality reels are sought after by collectors. The later level wind models were mass produced and are quite common among collectors.
