Malabar Florida
The Town of Malabar is located on the east coast of Florida in Brevard County.
It is 2 miles Southeast of Palm Bay and 75 miles Southeast from Orlando.
Malabar is positioned 27.98 degrees north of the equator and 80.58 degrees west of the prime meridian.
The population of Malabar is 2,622.

WN2IPZ - Novice License
In 1958 I was licensed as a Novice WN2IPZ, but it was only good for one year.
I worked Morse code mostly on 80 meters and was up to 20 WPM by the time my licensed expired.
All my QSL cards from this time period were either lost or destroyed.

Transmitter: Heathkit DX40 with 2 - 80 meter crystals and 1 - 40 meter crystal.
Receiver: Army Surplus BC-342-N
Antenna : 100 ft. folded dipole

SWL
I then just limited my hobby to being a shortwave listener.
I started out just listening to international broadcasters and then got interested in utility
stations (CW, RTTY, FAX, SITOR etc.)

I passed my Morse Code, Technician and General exams in September 2005.

On HF I mostly work 20/30/40 meters SSB, RTTY, PSK31, CW and some SSTV.

20 Meter SSB Transceiver using a MFJ-1772 20 Meter Folded Dipole Antenna.
This tranceiver is a QRP rig with 10 watts output SSB only.
