Softening water is one of the more technical treatment process that a water treatment professional does. This site is design to show how to soften water through a series of steps . Although it was written for Water Plant Operators anyone with a basic chemical and math background should be able to follow along. To your left there is a navigation panel of the content pages. Every pages is linked to this index page and to the previous and next page in the sequence of the content. If you have tab browsing a good technique would be to open this index in a tab and open pages in another tab. This site is about 900 KB and can be stored on your PC. Just create a folder and save each page into that folder. Use your open file location of your browser and navigate to the Softening_Index.html file. Open that file. Next bookmark the open file naming it something you can find and remembered easily. Now you can use this information for studying and as a reference off of your PC. It will work like a web site off the internet. I wrote a calculator page with some useful Water Treatment calculators for you to use. Since they were written in Java Script , they will work in all browsers and across all operating systems. You might be wondering who I am and why I authored this site. My name is Stephen Cullum and I have worked in Utilities for 32 years. The first 13 years in the Water and Waste Water Industry and the last 19 years in the Electric Power Industry doing Lab analysis , domestic and industrial water and waste water treatment.I hold a Florida Class A Water Treatment Certificate and a Florida Class B Waste Water Certificate. I also have an AA Degree from Valencia Community College and over 120 semester hours of college credit between Valencia and University of Central Florida. I run Linux and program as a hobby. This site was created from an old handout I made years ago to lecture on softening for a FWPCOA short school. Hopefully this will help some of my fellow operators to move to more advance certification. |
