The New Osborne "Chief"

In 1998, Sonny Osborne beganoffering a new banjo that incorporats his ideas of what a professional instrument should be. These banjos are offered, with a unique package that includes professional capo, strap and case. The specifications of the Osborne "Chief" model banjo include:

Premium Canadian Rock Maple Shell
Maple neck shaped to match Sonny's Granada (unfinished on the backside playing area)
Old-style Hearts and Flowers Inlay
Pearl Nuts
Huber Vintage Flathead tonering
Nickle plated or optional gold plated hardware
Planet tuners
A special version of the Calton Roadcase
Osborne Capo(a modified Elliot capo)
Spikes installed at the 7th and 9th.
A specially commissioned leather strap.

Oh, almost forgot to mention. The peghead script design was a collaborative effort involving Sonny, Sherry Nelson and yours truly. It is based on Sonny's signature.
